AJLI

The Junior League of Augusta is a member of The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI). Beginning as Junior Leagues founded in 1901 by New Yorker and social activism pioneer, Marry Harriman, the Leagues joined forces as an association in 1921 evolving into one of the oldest, largest, and most effective women’s volunteer organizations in the world, encompassing 150,000 women in 291 Leagues in the United Sates, the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico.

AJLI supports the Junior Leagues in their fulfillment of the Mission—to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Through regional, national and international meetings, AJLI continues to provide consultation, information, resources and valuable training opportunities to League members so that every League continues to be a vital force in its community.

AJLI is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All of its programs and activities are supported by League membership dues, foundation and corporate grants, and other revenue-producing efforts.
